First, I was happy to find that it wasn't as expensive as I had imagined. Second, I was pleasantly surprised that the new vector grid was a considerable upgrade over my now 7-ish year old very heavily used vector grid, seen above (I really need to <a title=\"Laser Vector Grid Construction and Care\" href=\"http:\/\/www.built-to-spec.com\/blog\/2011\/03\/13\/laser-vector-grid-construction-and-care\/\">clean<\/a> the old grid).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.built-to-spec.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/vector-bottom-resized.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1095\" title=\"vector-bottom-resized\" src=\"http:\/\/www.built-to-spec.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/vector-bottom-resized-300x138.jpg\" alt=\"Laser cutter vector grid\" width=\"300\" height=\"138\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.built-to-spec.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/vector-bottom-resized-300x138.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.built-to-spec.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/vector-bottom-resized-1024x471.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.built-to-spec.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/vector-bottom-resized.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new vector grid has a nice aluminum frame and the edges of the honeycomb are glued in place, keeping the comb rigid and flat. The new comb seems a bit stiffer than the original as well, though I'm uncertain if that's more due to wear on my old grid or a difference in material or metal gauge on the new grid.
