Assembling your Raspberry Pi enclosure is relatively\u00a0straightforward\u00a0if you've ever built any t-slot based laser cut stuff before, but here's a full guide with lots of pictures to help you assemble the whole thing that'll have you housing your Raspberry Pi in no time.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Prep the Parts<\/b><\/p>\n

The laser cut acrylic parts of the kit have a protective mask that keeps the parts from getting scratched up or marred during cutting. You'll need to peel this mask off all the parts before assembly.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Insert the Nuts and Light Pipes<\/b><\/p>\n

Tape the 4 M3 nuts in place on the spanning piece with some scotch or masking tape. This step is optional, but can really make your life easier later on.<\/p>\n

Slide the light pipe pieces in at this time as well as shown above.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Attach the Board Mounting Clip to the Bottom Piece and Snap the PCB on The Clip.<\/b><\/p>\n

Take the bottom piece with the holes on the left side and insert the board mounting clip into the slots with the board mount pin closest to you.<\/p>\n

Now take the Raspberry Pi PCB and snap it onto the board mounting clip.<\/p>\n

Note that a few very early model B boards did not have mounting holes on the boards. If you have one of these early boards, you'll need to clip off the loop (it's fairly easy to do with a pair of flush cutters) before continuing.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Attach the Composite Out\/Audio Out Side to the Spanning Piece<\/b><\/p>\n

Take the Composite Out\/Audio Out Side and insert the Light Pipes into their holes. This should be enough to hold the two pieces together for now.<\/p>\n

Step 5: Attach the Bottom, Composite Out\/Audio Out Side and Spanning Piece, USB\/Ethernet Side<\/b><\/p>\n

Take the Composite Out\/Audio Out Side and Spanning Piece and put it on top of the Raspberry Pi, inserting the composite and audio jacks into their respective holes.<\/p>\n

Now take the USB Side and put it in place. Insert two of the M3 bolts and tighten them down all the way. Be careful of the light pipes.<\/p>\n

If you've got a model A that just has the single USB port, there's an included side in the new kits just for that model. You'll probably want to put that on instead of the side pictured above. Step 6: Install the HDMI Side and Top Piece<\/b><\/p>\n

Now slide the HDMI side and Top Piece into place.<\/p>\n

Step 7: Install SD Card Side<\/b><\/p>\n

Finally, using one hand to hold the Composite Out\/Audio Out Side and HDMI Side to keep the Top and Bottom Pieces roughly in place and put the SD Card side on and inert the two more of the M3 bolts.<\/p>\n
